October 2011 Moms

I have NEVER been so tired

I can hardly function as a human being, let alone an employee, mom and wife.  I thought I had fatigue with my first pregnancy but this is by far and away the worst fatigue I have ever experienced in my life.  11 hours of sleep last night, 10 hours the night before and I still feel like I haven't slept in a week.  I feel like crying.  I swore I wouldn't complain if I managed to get pregnant again after my loss, but dear God....this is the hardest thing I've ever done!

I know this is just another mindless vent, appreciate your time.  I don't feel like I can go anywhere else to discuss this...

Re: I have NEVER been so tired

  • Awwww sorry you're feeling so exhausting. I was thinking this morning when I was trying to get ready for work about how much I am impressed by people who handle being pregnant while also caring for another child/children! Just try to get as much rest as you can and hopefully the extreme fatigue won't last too long. Just think about the end reward!!!

  • Hang in there!  From what I've read, you should feel better in 2nd tri!  One day at a time.

  • I here you.  No matter how much sleep I get at night, during the day I am exhausted.  This is my first pregnancy ( well, first one that made it past beta #2) and I did not expect to feel like this.  At least this is the only major symptom I am experiencing.  I can't imagine being tired and having morning sickness on top of it.
TTC Child #1 Sept '08, Dx: Unexplained, DOR 2 IUI's = BFN, m/c, IVF 1 = 0 embies to put back, IVF 2 = BFN, IVF 3 = cancelled, IVF 4 = BFP with 1 embie. Our son came into our life on 9/28/11. We are in love! Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Sorry Jess...hang in there!
  • All I can say is...  it does get better.  I'm 9.5 weeks and feeling better than I have since week 4.  Hang in there!
  • I know what you mean. It's been better for me this week, but that's because I'm really rearranging my schedule for rest. I got mad at my mother last night for calling after 8:30 pm. (I didn't *say* that to her, but crazy pregnant alison2379 wanted to.) I'm like, do you know what TIME it is? I was already lights out. So, I'm with you.

I did the same thing last night when my mom called at 9pm! I had already been asleep on the couch for about an hour. Stick out tongue I slept on the couch from about 8-10pm, then went to bed and got up at 6am (and still felt tired) ...

  • I really hope it gets better 2nd tri.  From what I've read about twins, which so far isn't much, the MAIN increased symptom is fatigue and it can last longer than normal.  I hear ya on the bed time, I was hopelessly out at 7:45 last night.  I know what I'm doing this weekend!!

  • This is really the only pg-related symptom I've had and yes, it seems worse this time around. I've been going to be at 8:30 every night and getting up at 5:40. Luckily, I feel great in the morning but as the day wears on, I get more and more tired. By 8 pm, I feel like I could sleep forever.

Here's hoping the second tri brings around a second wind like it did last time!!
