2nd Trimester

Maybe TMI....but do you have these

I have been getting a lot of liquid on my nipples as well as what looks like whitehead on the very tips.  I'm 24 weeks 4 days and have been having both of these issues for a while now.

Also I am having the WORST heartburn.  Last night it woke me up and I thought I was literally going to throw up.  I took some tums and that allowed enough relief to go back to sleep.  However today the heartburn is back and horrible.

Last issue.  By the end of the day I have a hard time walking without pain/pressure in my pelvis.  It's almost like I need to hang onto my belly and hold it up.

  • My girlfriend has the "holding up [my] belly" problem. She bought a belly belt from Burlington Coat Factory & that seems to help.

  • These are all pretty normal for where you are in pregnancy.  The liquid/whitehead is actually the beginnings of breast milk.

The heartburn is unfortunately normal too.  Watch what you're eating and keep track of what causes bad heartburn - for me, grapefruit makes it awful, but I still love eating grapefruit!  Just need to make sure not to eat any right before bed.

I get the pain in my pelvis on days that I wear pants that aren't full-panel.  When I wear my full-panel pants, I don't get the pain - I think they're more supportive.  There are also support belts you can get.

  • Yes, I've been getting a lot of liquid in mine as well. OB said it was totally normal. Just annoying! Ugh.
  • 1. It's colostrum, the beginnings of breast milk.

    2. Heartburn sucks, but is VERY much a normal part of pregnancy.

    3. Yes, pelvic pressure is normal.  Just wait until 36 weeks, you'll start feeling like your LO is going to push it's arm out through your vag.  It's fantastic!!

All of these are normal, welcome to nearly 3rd tri!!  At least you're pretty close to meeting your LO!!

  • Thanks guys.  With this being my first pregnancy I have no idea what to expect or what is going on. However, I do love all the experiences so far.

  • Talk to your doctor. Mine said I could take the OTC Zantac for Heartburn i think it's like 75 MG or something. I'm trying not to take anything but if it continues to get worse I'm going to take it

  • I call the white buildup "nipple boogers". I know. I'm really mature.

I don't have experience with the other issues.

I'm dealing with the liquid/fluid and white gunk too. This just started for me. I'm happy to know it's the beginning of milk :)
