I fell in the toilet

First off let me say that I'm back to peeing a thousand times a night. It was nice getting up maybe only once a night for a while but alas, no more of that.

Let me preface this with the fact that MH never puts the seat down after he pees. It doesn't bother me at all. I always check before I sit (because I never turn the light on in the middle of the night - I just do a hand check to see if it's down).

During one of my many trips last night I just flaked and forgot to check. Sure enough it was up. And when I sat down, well, I think you all have probably been there once or twice. Of course with a giant pregnant belly, my balance is all off and I didn't catch myself with quite my usual grace. My butt hit water Ick! So I had a nice shower at 3 in the morning. I just have to laugh about it today

lol that sucks! I'd trained DH to put the seat down everytime after he uses the toilet by saying he should close the lid before he flushes so that germs aren't flying around. Angel

Confession - one night (way before being pregnant) I had to go so bad in the middle of the night that I got into the bathroom and just sat down and went. The toilet seat cover was down. Pee everywhere. NOT fun cleaning up in the middle of the night!

Hahaha not a fun way to wake up at 3 am! This happened to me a few months ago. My husband NEVER leaves the seat up but for some reason he did. Glad you are okay.

Oh no!!

We have to close the lids on all toilets, otherwise our cats will get into the toilets and play and splash water everywhere.

So my routine is to check and lift the lid. Hopefully I don't forget one of these nights.

If we weren't diligent about closing the toliet lids to keep our two dogs out, I could totally see myself falling in just like this! Except my big fat pregnant butt would probably get stuck, and I'd have to yell for DH to pull me out...and then I would never live it down, EVER!

This post had me laughing before I even opened it. MH doesn't put the seat down either, and I dont make a big deal about it because I am not willing to put it up for him. I can totally see myself doing this half asleep too, especially since at night I expect the seat is down since I am the only one getting up 100 times. Last night I luckily noticed he had gotten up at some point to pee, because the seat was up, but its only a matter of time before I go butt first into toilet water! Thanks for sharing, I needed a laugh.

That is hysterical!!! I still laugh that 11 years ago when I first started dating my husband... my roommate really gave him the business about leaving the seat up & he's NEVER done it since! I feel very lucky!

I've done this, too. It's for that reason that I HATE visiting people who have those fabric covers on their toilet lids. I'd hate to pee on one of those!

he he he he he - this sounds a lot like something i'd do - my DH leaves the toliet seat up to - and like you i'm not that phased, but before we go to bed i usually make a trip to the toliet to put it down so i don't have to do it in the pitch black of night - my big issue is when i forget to put the seat down, or DH gets up to pee before i do in the middle of the night - i swear last time i forgot to puty the seat down i almost cracked my tail bone!!!!

Your story gave me a good chuckle though!
