Those people are idiots. Exercise is good for you and good for baby. You can do whatever you were able to do before as often as you did before (as long as it isn't jumping on a trampoline). My OB asked me to cut back on weights (nothing over 25lbs), but a lot of OBs don't even recommend that. As long as you're comfortable doing it, you can do it.
You can and should exercise during pregnancy. Aside from not wanting to "let your body go," exercise really helps prepare your body for labor. Just continue doing what you're already doing, and your body will let you know when to slow down. Now is not the time to push yourself harder or pick up new activities. I started out running every day and that gradually decreased to nada by the end of the 2nd tri. Good luck!
That's completely UNTRUE! Aside from the 1st trimester when I was completely exhausted and very sick I exercised up until the day before I delivered! Please understand, however, that it all depends on how active you were before pregnancy. Obviously as pregnancy progresses you will be more limited simply due to weight/pressure of baby. It comes down to how you feel-most weeks I worked out 5 days a week-sometimes 2 days. I lifted weights and did cardio (to workout dvds) at home and also walked. I lost my baby weight and he is 5 weeks old. Trust me, you will feel so much better about your body.
I agree with everything the PPs said. I was very sick during 1st tri. but after that I went right back to yoga (regular not prenatal) and running on the treadmill and riding the bike at the gym. I worked out the day I went into labor. However, like the ladies already said, do not go out and do that if you never excerised before you were pregnant. Talk to you doctor.
