My girls couldn't be any more different

2 year old at her check up - 18th percentile for height and 16th percentile for weight

4 year old at her check up - 81rst percentile for height and 87th percentile for weight

Tongue Tied

I keep thinking that c dif infection last year screwed up DD #2's growth.  Probably not, but she lost so much weight at that time, poor little kid.

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

  • Poor thing!  But overall she's healthy, and that's the important part!

My DS had his 2-year appointment a couple weeks ago, and the little tank is 84th percentile for weight, but only 16th for height!

  • I am sure she'll catch up.  Mine are the opposite.  After Maggie's first year she kept getting taller but her weight fell behind.  Molly has the opposite problem but now that she is getting older she is gaining in the height department!
  • If it makes you feel better I have a friend whose son will be 2 any day now and is in the 2nd percentile for weight (and he's never had c-diff, speaking of which, how in the world did your little one pick that up??).  Also, my sister and I are built so differently you wouldn't even know we were sisters if you ever saw us together.  Im the 2nd and the little one.  Full disclosure, I was very sick at 2 yrs of age, I'm not certain if that has anything to do with it in the long run either.  Hard to say as none of my family (prior to my sister and I) are in healthcare so they are what we would term 'poor historians'...
  • When Conrad lost weight between 4 and 6 months, he stopped growing height wise until 9 months old.  But, then he grew almost 5 inches between 9 and 12 months.  So, if the c-diff  did actually effect her, her body will probably compensate at some point, so I wouldn't worry about it.

They're both adorable and at healthy weights, even if DD2 is petite.
