I was raised Catholic but was married in a Methodist faith (because the Catholic church doesn't allow outdoor weddings and we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony).
We are now talking about Baptism's for LO and I'm wondering, do we (DH and I) need to be married in the Catholic church in order for LO to be baptized there? I'm going to be talking to a deacon on Friday but was wondering if anyone on here had any ideas before I get to actually speak to someone about it.

No but for our area one parents needs to be a member of the parish the child will be baptized in, my DH is Lutheran so obviously couldn't join my church unless he converted. I am not sure if that is a normal thing though or not.
Is this common? DH is Catholic and wants DS baptized, but he doesn't belong to any church, so I'm wondering if he can get DS baptized regardless?
It depends on your parish.. I'm not married and my priest said no. Also because he doesn't see me around church (well duh, I live 2 hrs from my home parish because I'm at school), he also said I had to be confirmed, which I am (he confirmed me, thanks for remembering). Plus with the godparents we chose only one is Catholic. So I'm just getting her baptized in a Christian church... haven't fully looked into it yet though.
For us only one godparent needs to be Catholic. We chose my brother who is Catholic but my SIL is Lutheran.
