I use Miss Justine for all our family pics, but there are a lot of other photo ladies on here that do great work! I don't have the Seattle Vendors button in my siggy, but a lot of other ladies do. That directs you to a website that has all of the Bumpie vendors in the area.
Leanne (blueLu) actually took pictures of Max when he was a tiny tiny for her hat business, and I loved them so much that I printed them all and framed a few! That was free and priceless!
The only Easter Bunny I can get behind. Maxwell Joseph 4/09 Lucy Violet 10/12
I love Ashley June Photography. I didnt use her for newborn pics bc I didn't know her then. But I so love her work and she did great pics of my guys last summer and of a friend of mine in the fall. She's newish so she's only on FB. Which is why shes currently still inexpensive. Google her and you'll find her FB page.
Here's a useful link to local resources (just under the wire). ...and I'll follow up with a recommendation for Stacy Atkin Photography because she's very talented and I WON the one-hour photo session with her at the recent B&B Fair...WOOT!
And so funny KNemo, Leanne took photos of Grady as well and I loved them. They are all in his baby book (my fave below)
We used Miss Justine, too! She was awesomesauce. Here's one of my favorites from that shoot:

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
I haven't used this place yet (no kids yet, this is #1) but one of my staff has and her pictures are outstanding! She buys a package for the year for a very reasonable price (I want to say $40 or so for all the sittings you want) and then just pays separate for any photos she wants. The company is called The Picture People and I believe they are located in South Center.

We just did Bella Baby Photography at Swedish Hospital. The nurse just paged them, and they came and took the pictures before baby left the hospital. My mother bought the proofs, and then we were able to print our own pictures. They did a really good job.
My baby was a preemie, so we actually did our pictures on the day that he left the hospital at the end of June. I did not want my baby to have wires showing, so the photographer worked around it and we got some good pictures.
It is good to have cute props. I love the crochet hats that people get on etsy for their babies, but I did not have a hat at the time of the pictures, only a small Carter's bear.

I like to support good photographers... so I'll get on my soap box for a second. Be discerning when you choose someone. Not all photographers are created equally and EVERY photographer has a niche (or they should) and an area that they really excel in. I would urge you not to go with the cheapest. Really, don't do walmart/sears if you are looking for professional pics. Sorry, that's just my opinion. They won't look professional and even if you can't tell now, one day when you have become obsessed w/ photography or see a photo that wows you, you will be disappointed with the "cheap photos" you got. (It happens all the time on the photography board, once people develop an eye, they suddenly hate their wedding photos, maternity photos, etc.)
IMO it is hard to be a really good newborn photographer and you should be critical when choosing one.
Anyway, here is who I think is really good at newborns (that's their niche):
Keri Meyers photography
The portrait place by Alecia Silva
and since I am allowed to talk about other bumpies businesses, I am e-friends with Keren Fenton and would definitely rec her for births/candids. She has a great eye. Great w/ portraits & newborns too, but I think she is *best* at births/candids.
Oh and Emily Weaver Brown is a great birth photographer as well.
Hope this doesn't get me in trouble. Congrats on your pregnancy!

We used Picture People for our newborn photos because 1) I was too chicken to meet up with anyone from here and 2) I thought a professional photographer would be out of my price range. I do love our newborn photos because we happened to get a fabulous girl to take the photos.
We went there for Christmas, 3 and 9 month photos. All were great except I was disappointed with the 9 month ones. It was a different girl and I had to set up the photos because she was clueless.
We did one year photos and family photos in October of last year with Keren Fenton (because I got over my shyness) and I can't tell you how much I love those shots. C was not quite cooperating but those candids are amazing! She caught my son at the best moments and he loved working with her. Crud, I should probably contact her for some more photos soon!
Another rec for Justine of J. Shelton Photography. She is amazing, and honestly, you get what you pay for. I had a free package from the Picture People when my son was 2 months old, and well, they looked like they were free. Justine's work is gorgeous and timeless and she is very affordable considering the quality of her photos.

Bumpie saraphoto is pretty great. Since we can't share links, PM her or Google Triskele Photography. Here is a photo that she took of LO at 4 months:
And ditto bumpie Stacey Atkin. I think she has a half-off deal still going until Friday? Here's her photo of LO at 6 days. ::LOVE::
I'm going to make an AWESOME big brother.
