I am new to having the sitter coming to my house. I am just curious to what everyone's sitter/nanny does during the day as far as around the house. I dont want to ask too much, but then again all the extra help I can get would be great.

Re: Nanny question
Standard nanny "house" tasks are - cleaning up the kitchen from any preparation of meals/bottles for the baby or themselves, cleaning up the bottles, washing and folding the kid's clothes/bedding, picking up/putting away the children's toys for use during the day.
My rule of thumb is always the house should look at the end of the day, like it did when you get here. They don't have to pick up after messes we've made, likewise, I don't want to pick up from messes they've made while watching the kids.
I also ask my nanny to weekly spray down the toys/play room with Lysol.
Typically nannies will do baby related chores, so cleaning up after meals, cooking for the kid (obviously different with an infant vs. older child), picking up toys, etc.
Some families ask for additional baby related work, like baby laundry or sweeping/vacuuming play areas and that sort.
Depending on how much your baby naps you could also possibly keep a list of things that need doing during nap time and if she's bored or feeling generous she could do those things. You could also possibly compensate extra for these extra tasks.
I always asked for the house to look the same way I left it + 25 minutes worth of cleaning. So that could be folding a load of baby laundry, running the vacuum, wiping down the counters - just whatever needed to get done.
