Houston Babies

favorite nursing tank?

With Natalie I just used the Gilligan & O'Malley ones from Target, but I want to try something different this time. The Target ones just seemed flimsy and not very supportive for me. I am thinking something sort of spandex-y, like almost the material of a Bella Band? Does it exist?

ETA -- I will be in Houston one month from today (yay!) so I am open to suggestions on local stores to look at. Will Woman's Work be gone by then? :(

Re: favorite nursing tank?

  • I liked the Old Navy ones because I hate the side boob split thing. Those never worked for me and just looked lumpy in the tank. I also love the Glamour Mom ones that don't have the boob split. The snaps on those were MUCH better than the ON ones. The ON ones use a hook which sucked to close with an infant.

  • I love the Glamour Mom ones.  I only use the regular ones to sleep in though because my boobs are too big for them and they don't look right.  I bought 2 of the full bust long top ones and I wear those everyday under all of my shirts.

  • glamour mom are really nice, but Target has started selling ones by Bravada as well that I haven't tried.  I like the way they feel on the hangers though.

AWW isn't scheduled to close until the end of March, so they might have some left.  Sandy will still be selling tanks & bras though in her new location.

Where will this be again? And will I have to make an appointment to check them out?

  • It's at 4104 Greenbriar and you'll need an appointment.  Also check with the Motherhood Center on W Alabama, I *think* they carry bras & tanks.

Oh, and Intimacy carries gorgeous nursing bras, just spendy

Thank you! I am definitely willing to spend more than the $16.99 I did last time. I ended up wearing them everyday and hating them for over a year, so it's worth it to me to feel comfortable and supported.

  • I love the Bravado tanks, mostly because they're the ones that fit me right. Glamourmom still hasn't gotten the memo that big boobs doesn't equal a big rib cage, even with the full-bust ones (but  I also hate the openings in the glamourmom ones, because they sit totally in the wrong spot.) The Bravado don't fit me perfectly either, but at least they get closer.

  • Around the house I wore the Target ones, but I had a few GlamourMom ones that I loved for leaving home.

I think my bras were Bravado...they really nice.

  • Another vote for Glamourmom. Worth the extra $, IMO. THey are the only tanks that supported my ginormous cup sizes. In fact, confession- Mathis has been weaned for 10 months and I still wear them under some tops.

  • Where can you buy the Glamour Moms?

They used to sell them at Woman's Work but now I am not sure where you can get them. I ordered the last few on line at their website

  • I was at Woman's Work this weekend and they still had some Glamourmoms in stock, although since they don't fit me right I didn't look at them. I think they're going to continue to sell them once they move too, maybe. They weren't marked down.

I wish they worked for me since they're super cute, but really they just don't fit me properly at all. By the time they're big enough for my ginormous boobs they don't give me enough support and I bust out the sides if we get the band to fit right.
