DS was born at 34 weeks. He is 3 weeks old now. He sleeps all day and is up a lot more throughout the night and I am getting no sleep. Is it too early for me to try to work on adjusting his schedule?
How often is he eating during the day? Does he wake to eat or is wanting to just be held? I know w/ DS#2 I had to wake him during the day to eat otherwise he was awake all night wanting to eat.
Also I found keeping the house bright and active during the day ( we even kept the lights on in their room during nap time and went about our regular activities) and calm and quiet and the lights dim in the evening helped both my boys to start learning the day night cycles. You might also try establishing a bed time routine (which can be a bit hard at this stage) but it can just consist of changing his clothes at this point so that he starts getting cues that it is time to sleep.
Hang in there it will get better. Try to get as much rest as you can during the day and ask for help when you need it.
