I just got a Beco from a friend and I really like it. It feels a little lighter weight than my Ergo (more like a mei tai), but still distributes the weight well. But DD is a back archer and when she arches her back I feel like she isn't 100% secure in there. Her arms already can come above the straps and she moves them above and below them at will. To me, she feels more secure in the Ergo -- like it seems like the flap that comes over her body in the Ergo is more pouch-like and the Beco is more loose at the top. So I am afraid to try a back carry in the Beco though I back carry all the time in the Ergo. Does anyone else find this with the Beco? Also, was just wondering if you can do hip carries with a Beco. I didn't see it in their instruction manual on the site so I'm assuming you can't but thought I'd throw it out there. Thanks!
Re: Beco Questions
Which Beco do you have? I have the Butterfly 2. I feel like DS is very secure in it, and he likes to arch his back too. Can you tighten the straps so she is more snug to you? Try fiddling with the various adjustments.
You can't do a hip carry in the Butterfly. I think it's because of the internal harness. You can do one in the Gemini, though.
