My friend's daughter had it a few months ago. She said the rash was tough, and she was pretty uncomfortable for a week or so, but just like anything else she got better and all was fine. If I remember correctly, the worst part is you can't take anything for it, so you just kind of have to wait it out. Hang in there!
DD had this back in October, it was horrid. She didnt have the rash she had huge sores in her mouth. She couldnt eat had trouble drinking. We were given the " Magic Mouthwash" RX and put it on the sores with a q-tip. Lucky for us DS didnt get it. It was hard for her to eat for about a 8 days.

My DD had it. The worst part is just waiting out the rash, motrin can help with the pain for them but if they are in the mouth it can be hard to eat. The pedialyte popsicles are wonderful. Also try cold jello and ice cream, anything like that makes it easier to eat.
My DD had it several months ago. She never got a rash and had at least one sore in her mouth and that was how the pedi diagnosed her...I brought her in because she was sick with something other than a cold and that's how he found that she had it.
He said that he didn't care if she didn't eat a thing for a couple of days as long as we made darn sure that she got liquids in her...milk, water, pedialyte...whatever. He said that it might be difficult because it might be so sore.
And then...I got it from DD. I honestly was 7-8 days of the most painful sore throat I have ever had in my life. I thought it was strep, but after a negative culture...I thought about it and figured that I caught what DD had. It was hard to swallow my own saliva, much less drink or eat anything.
I feel for anyone who gets it...it was pretty painful.
DD had this when she was 6 months old. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do, it just goes away on its own. I think I remember reading it is the most common virus among children.
So far i havent noticed any sores in her mouth, but she has had really high fevers. Last night it was at 105, i gave her motrin and immediately put her in a cool bath. Scared the crap out of me. Were any of you LO in daycare and had to be taken out because of it?
My son had this and lucky it was a mild case...not to many blisters and none in his mouth so he wasnt in much pain....our friends kids all had it at the smae time so someone gave it to everyone....

This. DS never got it all over but he did have sores in his mouth. So so sad. I think we battled it for about a week too.
Yes, it was the absolute worst. I am sorry she was diagnosed with it. My daughter had 105 fevers and sores all over her face, in her mouth, down her legs, on her hands and feet. The fevers were gone within a few days and it took a few weeks for all of the sores to go away. Try to keep her hydrated...it is hard because they don't want to drink due to the sores. Try anything to get fluid in. We ended up having to alternate tylenol and ibuprofen because I couldn't get my daughter's fevers down. It was a pretty rough few days. My active little girl just sat with me in the recliner all day and night for two or three days. I hope your little one doesn't get it that bad and she is back to herself in no time. There is not much you can do but comfort them and watch the fevers.
Yes, my DD had it back in October. She looked like she was broken out in acne on her hands, mostly...there were some dots on her tummy, feet, and around her mouth. Luckily she didn't get any sores IN her mouth so the whole ordeal didn't really faze her. I just tried to keep her skin moisturized, we kept her home from daycare for a few days, and she was all better! Hope it passes quickly for your LO.
