I think this name is really pretty but what's the general thought on it?I also like the spelling Sarina. Whenever I post on the babyname board my names always get shut down. They really like old lady white people name haha (i don't mean to offend anyone) I'm half colombian and half irish. I guess I like more "different" and trendy names? I figured I'd try here too.

Re: Thoughts on Serena?
Serena: YAY (I really like it)
Sarina: nay
I like Sarina- (SA-Rene-A)
I think it's going to be a long search. DH told me a week ago he wasn't sold on the the name we picked out, Brielle. He said he only liked it bc I really liked it. -_-
I really loved that name, But I want name we BOTH love. ooh boy.
I understand what you mean, we have had a boys name picked out for awhile now. For girls, DH agrees with almost everything I say but I'm the one that keeps wavering.
I kinda just hope its a boy.
Haha this is the difficult part!! If only they would just love the ones we came up with...
Don't like the spelling Sarina because my name is Serena
Nobody knows how to spell it but I do get lots of compliments on my name! I know it's a unique name, it's rare to meet someone else with my name.
I work in customer service, and recently had a few random people ask if I was named after Serena Williams, or if I play tennis, or does my parents like tennis...but I was born before her. Always annoying. But I guess you get that with any name.
What were you thinking for middle names?
I do like the name Serena (spelled this way)
My son has a new girl in his daycare names Sienna and I really like that name too.
This. Don't get too creative with spellings. But the name is beautiful!
This exactly!
My best friend is named "Sarina" so I'm a fan!
I think the "ah" sound of "Sarina" sounds better then the "sir" sound of "Serena".
This. I'm going for the "S-ah reen-a" pronunciation.
hahahaha I just looked up the meaning
Meaning : Reddish Orange-brown
Now... look at DH's hair. If this baby has red hair, that would be HILARIOUS.
I do like the name though
That's funny! Daddy's little girl!
) Sorry I never looked at the meaning - that is a weird one, for sure.
I LOVE the name Brielle. As far as Serena I immediately think of Serena Williams and Serena from Gossip Girl. BUT I do like the name.
Serena is beautiful. makes me think of the lovely Blake Lively on GG!
Very classic, strong and sweet sweet name. I love it.
Sarina is...not working for me. When people do unique spellings I automatically think they are under the age of 20, unmarried, teen mom types with not much $. I know...its totally judgmental. Plus I keep thinking of Sars...the disease.
I'd be using the the different spelling bc I like the diffrent pronunciation.
I'm glad I just made the cut of your judgment. I'm 21, and Married hahahha
I do tend to like the more"unique" trendy names, the old fashion traditional names just don't do it for me. And that very well could be due to my age and generation. My name is Rayna, and with the last name MIller now, I'd like a unique name/spelling.
With miller being so common, imagine if I picked a name like, Emma, or Ashley.
But I do have to admit, women my age are using very ... um special, names. LOL. Such as Ariellis, Nevaeh, Maxo and list goes on LOL.
This exactly... and Serena Van Der Woodson (from the show) was kind of a ho-bag so I'm not sure I could do it.
Also, with the spelling and pronunciation thing, just picture your 4 year old in kindergarten trying to explain to someone again how to spell their name and say it correctly. My name is Britany and was very popular (naturally) but was spelled wrong and I hated having to constantly spell my name for EVERYONE! It eventually got to the point in high school that I just stopped correcting people unless they ask.
