The first week was soooo much easier. There was no gas, no constipation, and no horrible spit up.
Now he can barely sleep without being woken up from pains resulting in co-sleeping at nights sometimes, he is slightly constipated, and chokes and coughs a lot when he spits up which scares the crap out of me which is another reason we are co-sleeping because we have to sit up straight up to help him out. Thank god we have a pedi appt Thursday.
It just seems like things have gotten harder. I used to know why he was crying because it was either hungry or dirty diaper and now there are so many other discomforting things to him that sometimes I can't figure it out and I hate that feeling.
Re: Isn't it suppose to get easier?
Can I reassure you that it will get easier?
I have said this 1982137329721309 times, but I am SO glad I don't ever have to be a first time mom again. I was so stressed out that I can barely remember DD when she was this age.
For me, life has gotten way easier around 6 weeks, and just know that each subsequent child it will only get easier!

Welcome to Parenthood - just when you think you've got it figured out, they throw you a curveball!
We're entering the peak time of crying/fussiness right now. It peaks at about 2 months, and starts to drop after 3. There will be a lot of fussing, gassiness, etc. for a while now. DS is 1 month today and it is harder now - at first they just sleep. Now they're more alert, their digestive system is changing - lots going on.
It will get easier in some ways, and harder in others. Hang in there!
I was just thinking the same thing earlier. H spits up in her sleep even after sitting upright for 20-30 minutes after eating, so she's constantly waking herself up on the offchance I can get her to sleep in the first place. She's such a gassy thing now too, so that doesn't help either.
Hang in there - hopefully the pedi will be able to help on Thursday!
I think DS is going through a growth spurt too. He is constantly hungry and wants to be held all the time...I need to get my butt moving on making that Moby wrap!
Good to know that I am not the only one who feels this way or has noticed things getting harder though.
