Pediatric dentist rave (Alexandria)

I took DD to the dentist for the first time today for an exam and cleaning. I was expecting the worst (from DD). It turned out to be a great experience, in no small part because of the dentist.

Dr. Mina Dadkhah (she goes by Dr. Mina) was incredibly patient and took the time to show DD, who is 2, all of the tools she was going to use and explain what she was going to do each step of the way. I was amazed (AMAZED) that DD sat in the chair, didn't cry, didn't fight her and actually enjoyed the visit. It probably didn't hurt that Dr. Mina had a TV on the ceiling playing cartoons, but hey, whatever works.

Her office is located off of Beulah, near the Springfield metro. Those of you who go to Pediatric Associates, it's right across the street.

Re: Pediatric dentist rave (Alexandria)

  • OK, thank you a TON for this post.  I just took the girls for their 4 year and 2 year appointments, and the pedi asked if either had been to the dentist yet.  Ummmm... no.  I'm a bad mom.  I had noticed that Smileville place before.  So I just called and they are taking new patients (score!) and they take our insurance (score!).  Appointments made.  I'm a good mom again!
