I just read on the American Dental Assoc. website that your child should be off the bottle between 12-14 months. DD is 13 months and still has 1-2 bottles a day (naptime and nighttime). Anyone else?
T isn't (we were lucky she never liked bottles and went pretty quickly from boob to sippy cup) but there are several kids in our playgroup that have bottles at least a couple times a day that are 16, 17 and 18 months. I wouldn't worry too much just yet!
Can you start working bottles of water instead of what is in the bottle now, then replace that with a sippy cup eventually? I am assuming milk? Does she take the bottle to bed or have it before you put her down? If she isn't taking the bottle to bed/falling asleep with it, can you brush her teeth after it?
FWIW, my older boys were not weaned by 1. It was 20 years ago, so I can't remember exactly when they dropped it, but I think they were closer to 18 months old. Neither had/have cavities/fillings in either their baby or permanent teeth.
