RE and/or Hematologist Rec? *changed title*

Can anyone recommend a RE and/or hematologist in NOVA or DC? I live in Alexandria, but will drive to wherever in DC or VA. I was diagnosed with compound hetero MTHFR today and would like more information about it. I am going to a normal OB and she wouldn't recommend a specialist unless I have a 3rd loss, but I don't want to wait. TIA!

    I'm sorry about your loss and the MTHFR diagnosis. I saw Dr. DiMattina at Dominion Fertility in Arlington for my repeat losses (3 of them). I heard some not so wonderful things about him, but I had a great experience. He diagnosed me with PCOS, put me on Metformin, and I gave birth at the end of Jan. with my baby girl! I wasn't thrilled with my hematologist, so I won't recommend him, but good luck to you!

    I saw Dr. Rodriguez (she's a hematologist at an oncology practice at VHC) when I was concerned about MTHFR after my mom had some clotting issues and was found to have it.  She took plenty of time to sit with me and talk through potential outcomes.

    FWIW, I was at least 10 weeks pg by the time I saw the hematologist, and before I got the results in neither she nor my OB seemed extremely concerned about immediate risk to the baby.

    We went to Shady Grove Fertility and had a great experience. Dr. Nair was wonderful, as was our nurse, Liz.

    I saw Dr. Patel at Fairfax Northern Virginia Hemotology/Oncology.  I loved her!  I will admit, b/c most of the patients there are cancer patients the lobby is very depressing, but she is fantastic!

    I saw Dr. Goldstein at Washington Hematology / Oncology. I only had one visit to discuss the results of a screening (family history of clotting) but it met my needs. GL and best wishes!

    I really like Dr. Spira for hematology at va cancer specialist.  He has a great bedside manner and spends a lot of time with you.  His office is located on Prosperity Ave near fairfax hospital.
