Went in this morning to do the GT. Went back drank the stuff ( fruit punch, chilled, very nice) they put us all in a "lounge" area right around the corner from the nurses/lab station. There are about 4 of us sitting there waiting it out. The next girl is brought back ( you can't see them, but can hear everything) and she is picking her flavor, getting instructions, blah, blah, blah...Then she starts whalling "I can't do it, I can't drink this" the nurses are assuring her she can, she is yelling that she can't. We are all rolling our eyes. She then procedes to PUKE all over the floor from the sounds of it! As I am sure you all know, that stuff sitting in your empty belly doesn't feel good to start, then to hear someone puke just puts you over the top! all of us started rubbing our bellies in discomfort. I was sure there was going to be a pukefest going on at the office! Just a bunch of burping ladies! ThankGod!
Re: funny GT story. I swear
Oh wow, it really isn't that bad. Sure it's sweet but if you just chug it down like you're suppose to it's not so terrible that it would make you puke. Maybe she was just nervous about the whole thing, that is pretty funny though. Did she end up getting a new one to drink or did she have to reschedule? BTW Good Luck to you!

Maybe she has HG. Mine went away but if I was still suffering from it then I would have puked my guts out too.
That reminds me of when I went to the ER during 1st Tri throwing up and dehydrated from HG. The triage room had me puking, alcohol poisoned marine puking and dehydrated recruit puking. And we were only separated by curtains...Talk about pukefest!
Poor thing! I have an iron stomach, and on top of that, I think Dimeatapp and straight grenadine taste awesome! But drinking the whole bottle of glucose in 5 minutes? that would send the strongest tummy to a rumble. I feel bad for her!
I did my 3 hour yesterday and passed. Hope you do, too!
Oh boy, that could have been BAD back in that room! Glad the rest of you were able to tough it out.
I had my 1-hr today and it wasn't pleasant but it wasn't that bad. The drink tasted like melted Otter Pops! But I just have to say that for all the people saying to suck it up because it's not that bad, it's not that bad for you. Some people have blood sugar issues and may react to it much differently and negatively than you. I was dizzy and nauseous the whole time and had to take a nap when I got home. I still feel pretty woozy. For some it's a walk in the park. I know some women are drama queens, but I'm sure that poor girl didn't vomit all over the lab in a ploy for attention. When she warned them she couldn't do it, obviously she could feel it coming back up. Nerves may be a part of it, but when you know how your body reacts to fasting and massive doses of sugar, you have some idea it's not going to go well.
I didn't feel that great after drinking it either. I was dizzy and kinda felt like I just did 3 shots of vodka. My arms were tingly and I just felt weird. The lady puking didn't help! when I got out of there, I high tailed it to the closest McDs and inhaled a Bacon egg n cheese!
