Hi ladies. I wanted to intro myself while I"m up awake pumping. I'm Trisha, and my Isaac was born at 35w1d, about 3.5 weeks shy of his scheduled c/s. I went into L and D for decreased movement. The decision was made to deliver him via c/s after he was having heart decelerations (a nonreassuring 12 hour monitoring session) even though he had a perfect BPP of 8/8. He was born with only 1/3 of his blood, 2/3 ended up inside me. He had zero cord blood and was pasty gray; he was a good weight at 6lb1oz and 18.5". He received 2 blood transfusions and after lots of monitoring, some false positive heart echos, and some blood pressure issues, he's now stable in the NICU at day 3. He was intubated but is now on cannula only. We're hoping he may get to take some breastmilk tomorrow through a feeding tube.
I am receiving 11 Rhogam shots since there was so much of his blood in mine (I'm O neg, DH and Isaac are O pos). There was 250 mL of his blood in me (the equivalent of 8.5 oz).
I'm still in the hospital and he's looking at at least a few more days in NICU. I'm hoping for a couple of extra days here to be with him, since I"m pumping. My hospital is fabulous and offers courtesy stays, so I am hoping to take them up on it when they offer, otherwise I'm discharged tomorrow. His nurses are amazing!
I look forward to getting to know you all and supporting you and your babies.
