Mesh Feeder

What do you recommend putting in the mesh feeders? My LO won't take any "real" food so I thought I might try it!

Re: Mesh Feeder

  • We have tried bananas and they were a hit! Thinking of trying avocado and apples.

  • We have tried Bananas, apples, melon, pineapple, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, pretty much anything that you can find in frozen form. DD loved this when she was teething.
  • I only used a mesh feeder for a couple weeks while LO was getting the hang of picking up small things like puffs.  It was so gross to clean, that I got rid of it as soon as I could.

I put basically anything I could in it.  Apples, bananas, avacados, sweet potatoes, frozen peas, pears,

Basically anything soft went into the feeder.

I've done bananas and frozen peaches.
  • I put frozen purees in them.  DD is not a big solids eater, but she does love them frozen.
  • Should it always be frozen?

No, whenever I use the mesh feeder, I will put fresh banana or apple in it. DD loves it!

  • I don't put froze stuff in it. Just ripe fruits-- we've done pears, peaches, plums, mangos.

  • By the way, the mesh feeder makes a great teething tool.  Put ice or frozen whatever in it to help sooth your LOs gums.

DS#1 still uses it with ice only since his molars are coming in.  It really helps.

I've never thought about putting a frozen puree in there! I'll have to give that a try. DD loves grapes and I also use frozen apple chunks. Now that she has a couple teeth that popped through it really seems to soothe her.
