TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Talk to me about Menopur

We are moving on to injections this month and this is what my RE wants to try first. I'm trying to stay away from Dr Google so please tell me anything...side effects, how it feels, etc. I'm worried about multiples with my uterine history and my age. But my RE told me that he really doesn't see it that much with Menopur. Is he blowing smoke up my a__?

  • It's easy peasy. You need to mix it, but that's no problem.

It WILL burn if you don't let it warm up for a couple minutes first, though. So, just let it sit on the counter while you pluck out a couple errant eyebrows or something and you'll be good.

I did it with my IVF cycle and agree with Entropic. I think as far as multiples go, as long as your monitored, you should be fine. Good luck and don't google too much. There is scary stuff out there.

  • Are you serious?!? Is THAT why it burned like crazy!?!

Well yeah, that was gonna be my one warning - that it may burn a bit going in but for me, literally once it was in the burning was over.

Beyond that it's tough to tell if I was a hot, crazy mess due to Men, Gonal-F, microdose Lupron, or just plain letting my inner crazy run free cause I had a get out of jail free card.

Honestly - it wasn't that bad either time I did a round of Men.

  • Good luck to you. I used it with my IVF cycles, but also was on other meds at the time.

  • I used menopur with my IVF cycle.  I did not refridgerate it - it says you can put the powder in, but you don't have too and there is no reason to put the liquid in.

It did burn like heck though.  I think it's way worse than lovenox, which is supposed to be awful.  That one doesn't bother me at all.  I guess everyone is different.

Good luck - it's really not that bad.  It will be all worth it in the end.
