So excited!! (NBR)

DH has been waiting for a promotion for almost a year now, and today he was officially offered it! I am so proud and happy for him! We basically have 3-4 weeks to move to the new town before he starts so now we begin the house hunting process. I am freaking out, I have so much to do!

Anyone who has moved during pregnancy, do you know how the doctor's office transfer works?

Thanks! It is about an hour and a half, so it's not bad at all.

Esma: I'll turn him into a flea. A harmless little flea. Then Ill put that flea in a box. And put that box inside another box. Mail that box to myself. And when it arrives. ILL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER. Its brilliant, brilliant, brilliant I tell you. Genius I say.
Or to save on postage. Ill poison him with this.
  • That's great news!

So you have to get a new doctor?

  • Congrats on the promotion!  How far away is the move?

Dr transfer should be simple, let your current OB know whats going on, fill out a form at your OB to forward the information to the new OB once you have found one.  When you call to make an appointment have your new OB call and request your medical records.  It might take a few days for the information to get there, so call to schedule it a week or so before you need to go in.

  • That's so great! Congrats!

As far as the move goes, just make sure you get permission for your records to be transferred as soon as you can. Or just get them before you leave. It took over a month for my records to arrive at my new office. They made me do all of the initial bloodwork and tests again because they were taking so long.

Good luck! I'm so excited for you guys. Don't work too hard and hurt yourself though.

  • I moved a little over a month ago.  I just provided my new doc's info to my old doctor and called to confirm my records were transferred prior to my first appt.  Congrats and good luck with your move!

I just moved to a new state and transferred docs and this is pretty much right on. At my last appt with my old OB, they had me sign a form so they could send my records to my new OB. They actually faxed them over that day AND printed a copy for me to have of my own. My new OB reviewed my file before my first appt with her and then just asked me a few questions to make sure she was all caught up. The sooner you call and set up an appt with a new OB, the better though!!

Now I'm a little pissed it took the office in Utah more than four weeks to transfer mine.

Heather, I really hope you have the experience like these ladies.

  • Congrats and good luck!  That is very exciting news.  The doctors office can request your records from the other doctor.  I just had to sign a little release form.

Yes I do, it makes me so sad since I LOVE my doctor right now! :(

Thanks ladies! I have already looking up the doctors in our PPO so I'll be giving them a call today!
