  • I had a friend years ago who's son would only sleep on his belly. She was scared every night she put him down to bed, but here he is almost 6yrs later just fine. (she's a nurse, so very well aware of the reasons why not to do it.)

I would just suggest to have an angelcare monitor if she's going to tummy sleep, then you can have peace of mind when you lay her down.

I'm trying to get mine used to sleeping laying down instead of sitting up in a swing or bouncer.

  • I'm pretty sure I'm their worst nightmare because of how often we have called/gone in... We've already had three appointments in three weeks for reflux, weight, umbilical cord issues... as well as multiple phone calls for all of the above plus spitting up questions (he was spitting up blood which turned out to be from my aching, bleeding bbs)... and I'm trying to wait until Friday to call back and get his reflux meds switched because they aren't doing anything... I'm sure the doctor is sick of us already!

  • this would scare me too but... when I was little my mom told me this is how all the doctors were telling parents to lay the babies down so that if they spit up in their sleep they wouldnt choke... it changes, I think its fine!

  • I second buying the angelcare monitor, love that. Ty loves his stomach too but we only let him sleep like that on us when we are awake and sitting up. DH had a sister pass away from SIDS so we are a bit paranoid.
