Not getting up at night to pee anymore?

Anyone else?

Pretty much since I got my BFP, I've been getting up to pee two or three times every night.  The last few nights, I haven't had to get up at all.  I'm so not complaining, just wondering if anyone else is sleeping better too.  Smile

Re: Not getting up at night to pee anymore?

  • I used to get up many times to go pee, now only once... And it's more uncomfortable than anything, before it was like my bladder was about to explode!!!

  • I swear, my bladder turned on like a faucet at about 5 weeks, and abruptly turned itself off at 11 weeks.  It was really weird how quickly I went from peeing twice a night to completely back to normal (I never used to have to get up).

None of my other symptoms have completely gone away yet though - it was just that one.  ::shrugs::

  • I don't have to go nearly as much either.  I read in one of my books that this is common.  I forget the exact reason, I think it has to do with the position of your uterus during your 2nd tri.

  • Yup, I got up every night during first tri, and in second tri I haven't gone very much, maybe once a week I have to get up at night.
  • I am so jealous of you ladies!!! I think mine has gotten worse the past month! I get up at least twice a night and I have made it a point to not drink much before bed!! I also have been really uncomfortable at night and cannot stay asleep!

Hopefully my time will come in the next few weeks!!

  • I have still not slept through the night since my the beginning of 1st tri, however the last couple of weeks I have been sleeping for much longer stretches and only getting up once maybe twice. It has been so nice, the first time I only got up once I was worried but I agree it has to do with the position of the uterus.

you are right. at first your uterus puts a lot of pressure on your bladder as it starts to grow, then in second tri it is growing upward and out and is no longer on your bladder. of course in 3rd tri the weight of the baby makes it bad again. I can't think of where I read this.

  • Wish this was my case! I've still been getting up at least twice/night. Slept AWFUL last night.
  • With my son, I got up about twice at night. With this one? Never. The only time I do is if I sleep in past 9am...like on the weekends.

  • Most nights I still get up about twice to use the bathroom but that's better than the 4 I was getting up during the first trimester. My problem the last two weeks has been waking up between 1:30am and 2am and not being able to go back to sleep :(

  • Its weird, other then a couple of nights, I haven't had to get up to pee at all. I pee constantly all day long but at night I seem to be able to hold it until the morning. Part of it is that even if I have to pee I try to hold it because we have a 4 month old puppy who hears ever little creak of the floor board and starts barking so if I get up to pee I also woul dhave to go downstairs to let her out and i just don't want to do that if i don't have to haha.
  • I am still getting up, just not as often.  I was up to 6 times a night to pee and now I am down to 2.  My mom just bought me the snoogle and i am sleeping soo much better.
