I am being induced in two weeks and I talked to my midwife about their preferred induction technique and she said they will not use cervadil on me but go straight to pitocin, this was the case when I was induced with DD1 as well, however I keep seeing posts about cervadil first, is this only for first time Mom's or those whose cervix's aren't favorable?

Re: Induction methods...
I did have cervadil with DS1. I was only dilated to a 1 and basically not effaced or anything. I think it just helps to ripen the cervix, which I'm guessing could help your labor to progress more quickly once they do the pitocin. Maybe your midwife just wants to use as few medical aids as possible? I would ask about it, because I'm sure they could do cervadil if you wanted it. Good luck!
I was not dilated at all and went straight to pitocin during my induction.
