What is your evening like?

With DC I mean. Things have gotten a little fussy over here around this time, which I know is normal. I think she is having trouble taking her little catnap she needs since it is so close to bedtime. But she can't make it without the catnap!

So here is how our evening goes(ish)

3/4- nurse

catnap (or a good one if we're lucky, those days are better!)

5/6- the dinner fussiness for both girls

5/6- nurse

catnap, desperately needed.

8/8:30- nurse then bed- long stretch begins now... I won't tell you how long :)

I see that a lot of newbies are going to bed a lot later than this, but she has naturally made this her bedtime. Which is awesome!!

Anywho, just wanted to see what everyone else was looking at every evening!

Re: What is your evening like?

  • DD generally takes a long afternoon nap until 4 or 5. Then she's up to eat and takes a catnap.

She starts cluster feeding around 7, and that lasts until 10ish. She doesn't sleep during this time (usually). Her last feeding generally puts her to sleep for bedtime around 10-10:30.

She wakes again to eat between midnight and 1 a.m. so I use the time between when she falls asleep and she wakes up to get my night chores done with the animals and take a shower.

And speaking of clustering, she's starting to fuss!

  • Xander eats at 4pm, 8pm and about 1am.

Inbetween those times, I have Austin getting off the bus a little after 4. After he gets home, both Austin and Lily (she is 4.5) have a snack that is usally a granola bar or something easy that they can get while I finish with the baby.

We do homework, then dinner. By then Xander is awake and wants to eat. They do their last minutes stuff before bed while I feed the baby. I then tuck them in and do our good night stuff. And about that time, Xander is still awake, needs a change and I spend some time that is just me and him before dh gets home at about 1130pm.

Sometimes it goes crazy and the kids eat at a different time or Xander eats at a different time and throws the older kids off.

  • She feeds on and off pretty constantly from 5:30pm til 7-8pm. She takes a small catnap, then at 10:30 is her first bottle of EBM and then she sleeps til 2-3am.

When she's on and off nursing, it's all sorts of fussiness included. Lots of holding, patting, pacifing, crying (from her and me, lol) and then it finally ends later.

  • DS naps a lot in between feedings.

He eats every 2-3 hours and starts out eating between 3-4p. He is usually awake around 8 until 11 though and then eats again and falls asleep.

I do not go to bed until 1am though. That is my schedule due to DH working nights but not sure I will be able to keep that up or not.
