I am getting a 1hr glucose test at my 12 week appointment because I have a history of insulin resistance. I was just wondering if any of you ladies had one at 12 weeks and what it was like? Is it as simple as drink the stuff...wait...draw blood...then done?
Re: 1 hr. Glucose Test - 12 weeks
Pretty much!
I've already had my test done which i thought was strange but atleast it's out of the way!
You will have to do it again at 26ish weeks. Some providers do it early as a precaution or because of family history, etc.
My OB does one at the beginning of 2nd tri and again at 26wks.
ahhh.... damn
First pregnancy I had to do it at 12 weeks. It was aweful, nothing liek chugging orange pixie sticks at 7 am... Blah.
Don't worry abotu failing the 1 hour, I would say 60% of pregnant woman do.
I didn't have it at 12 weeks, but my friend did. You drink the stuff, wait an hour and then they take your blood. It's the same as the one hour glucose at around 24-28 weeks.
Bring a book or magazine to read. Good luck!
