Engorged a second time?

So my milk came in last Thursday (17th) and I was engorged that day and Friday, but then all was well. Now, I am engorged AGAIN. Why is this happening?? Has anyone else experienced this? I literally have no idea what to do. I've pumped a little to try and relieve the pain and hardness and my LO is still nursing, but I am at a loss as to how to fix it.

    It may continue to happen.  Sorry.  I'm actually slightly engorged today - although dh fed dd a bottle last night w/o telling me so that may be why.  Time will fix it.  In the meantime, take a hot shower and manually express to get some relief.  Don't pump too much or it will trigger your body to produce more for lo.  Have lo start to nurse on the side that is most engorged to get some relief.

    I second the shower with manual expression - that's how I deal with engorgement when it strikes (which thankfully has subsided), that and then nursing DD on the more engorged side after my shower.

    it will take a few week for your body to regulate its milk production for how much milk you need. Luckily I;ve only gotten engorged once so far. I hope that it doesn't happen again. I;m staying on top of it by pumping every few hours along with nursing.
