? about recognizing someone on the Bump

in TTC After a Loss

I have recognized someone from pics on the Bump as someone I know that I already knew was going thru the same thing as me. My question is do I let them know that I saw them on here or let them keep their illusion of anonymity? I myself would want to know but WWYD? I don't want her to be upset and feel like she can't completely express herself on here because after all she was here first.

    I do not know what you should do, but I think that a lot of ladies on here are going to be uptight until you do and myself included. (just my opinion)

    Send her a PM and let her know. There is no such thing as anonymity anyways. I am an open and honest person on the bump and IRL. I have no secrets or shame LOL. I would definitely love to know if a friend of mine also discovered the wonderful awesomeness that is THEBUMP.

    Maybe bring up The Bump in real life and see how they respond (Hey, I found this interesting website that has a board about women TTCAL...have you heard of it?).  If they are standoffish, they probably want to remain annonomous.

    Yes, except for that fact that she will probably see this and know right away when you bring up TB to her.  I say just PM her.  Are the two of you close at all?  Or do you just know her?

    I consider her to be a friend. We worked together for many years. I know her and her husband. We even use the same OB and have talked about our miscarriage problems. I just don't want her to think Im intruding. I think I will just PM her and if she wants me to bow out I will.

    I would want to know if someone knew who I was....but that is very unlikely anyone would actually know me in real life :)

    Married 5/15/10. Me (29). DH (33). BFP#1 7/25/10 - Missed m/c 8wks - D&E 8/25/10 BFP#2 12/25/10 - Missed m/c 7wks - D&E 1/20/11 (second loss due to abnormal chromosome 7) Genetics testings- Normal. RPL panel results- Normal. Elevated FSH (14). DH b/w normal. SA- Normal. HSG- Left tube possibly blocked. Minor septum removed. My Ovulation Chart ~~ Hope is the companion of power, and mother of success.     I agree. Send a PM. I think I'd be a little excited if someone irl recognized me on here...I don't know too many people going through this. But then again I can understand being uncomfortable too.

    BFP #1: 12/2009 m/c 1/2010 BFP #2: 6/2010 m/c 8/2010

    BFP #3: 10/2011 ectopic 11/2011 (right tube removed, learned left tube was probably nonfunctional due to scar tissue from infection after m/c)

    3 failed IUIs, IVF #1: 18R, 12M, 10F, 3 poor quality 5d embryos transferred= BFP #4!!!!!

    Betas: 9dp5dt: 64 ~14dp5dt: 91 (expecting miscarriage, doubling time of 236 hours) ~16dp5dt: 200~18dp5dt: 500

    First Ultrasound at 6w2d revealed two sacs, only one with a heartbeat

    LK arrived after 42 weeks on August 14, 2013! Beautiful, healthy, and happy!

    TTC#2: IVF booked for April 2015

    Surprise BFP#5 February 19, 2015 EDD: November 2, 2015

    Betas: 10dpo: 10, 14dpo: 77, 17dpo: 270

    First Ultrasound at 5w1d showed a miracle UTE baby! And right ovary ovulation to left fallopian tube.

    JD arrived at 38 weeks on October 20, 2015.

    TTC #3: Since October 2017. BFP #6 July 2, 2018 EDD: March 16, 2019 [/spoiler]

    I agree with PP.  Also, if she is someone who felt comfortable putting up pics of herself then this is the risk she takes (this, consequently, is the reason I do not share personal pictures).  But a PM is nice because it keeps it within the community and not IRL, and lets her respond on her own terms instead of being put on the spot.
