Boy, and girls with boy names. It was a girl on One Tree Hill, but I bet she (and lots of others) were named after Walter Peyton, who is definitely a man, and that is definitely a surname. I know Peyton Manning was named after him too...
In fact that is my niece's name and no her parents are not "wannabe yuppie twit football fan parents with a small, genderless brat child" as someone so nicely put it earlier.
Makes me think of Peyton Manning, since my ILs live in Indy. He's the Colts QB. One of DH's friends used it as his 4 year old's middle name (boy) because he's a Colts nut.
I do know an almost 1 year old girl named Peyton. NMS as a girl name.
The little boy that I watch is named Peyton, but it is such a huge girl name right now. I would say girl. The poor little boy that I watch is going to have like 2 other Peytons in his class...all girls.

I definitely would not know upon hearing it. There is a little girl who lives directly in front of me named Payton, and a little boy that lives directly behind me named Peyton.

My thoughts exactly. I'm really surprised at all the girl replies.

Okay, that might be a bit harsh. But, the name is genderless and nms.

This was myfirst thought too. I do like the name though, and it makes me think of a girl.
Your use of capital letters is interesting.
It makes me think of Peyton Manning and a little girl.
Sadly its a boy name going unisex.

Personally I like Payton for girl, and Peyton for a boy but I guess it could really go either way these days I know mainly girls though.
This is why I hate unisex names.
