Lily Padz Question

I have heard of these but I just thought they were a regular washable breast pad.  I just read a post on the BFing board about how they can help stop your breasts from leaking.  I don't wear pads because when I leak it's minimal, but it still requires my nursing bras to be washed frequently because they do get a bit wet.  I feel like the LilyPadz would be perfect for me.

Anyone use these? Do they work well?

TIA!

Re: Lily Padz Question

  • My sister got married 10 days after DD was born and they were a lifesaver.  I wouldn't say that they completely stop leaking, but the minimize it and keep it contained. There have been times when they fill a little bit with milk, but they've never actually leaked.

  • Would they work if I leak a pretty significant amount?

Yes, I leaked a ton in the first few months and they worked really well. They also have the additional benefit of "smoothing things out" so that you're not poking through sheerer shirts. I actually used them last summer (long after EPing ended) so that I felt better about how the twins looked in a bathing suit.

  • Thanks for asking this, I was wondering the same thing.

I wear pads everyday because I am scared of leaking, and sometimes you can tell I am wearing them... which I hate...I wear them at night too because I leak a lot during the night... Also when I am feeding DD on one side, the other side leaks.

How many would you buy if you were trying to use these?

You wouldn't need more than one set. They're washable, just with detergent and water. I used a single pair for the entire time I was EPing, so just under a year.

I leaked the most at night and they really helped.
