withholding milk

Can you withhold milk from a 12 month old while they get over their nasty colds?  I am torn on this one.  Part of me says yes because milk increases mucus production but the other part of my says that it is so important in their diet that we shouldn't restrict it.

    We usually cut back on dairy while she's sick. I think a few days of less milk isn't going to be a problem in the grand scheme of things.  The amount of milk she has varies day to day, anyway, when she's feeling well.

    I gave much less milk when Charlotte was sick.  She got mostly water and a bit a juice.  Like PP said, I figure a few days won't hurt.
