Is reading a skill of the past?

Re: Is reading a skill of the past?

  • Not in this house! My daughter could live in a house of just books!

She likes to read to the dog.

  • Oh I hope not.  DS would be one lonely boy and I'd be one unemployed Momma.

  • honestly I think so and it is unfortunate. I am guilty of not reading nearly as much as I used to when I was younger. I feel like they have created these E-readers to make reading seem cooler and fit into our techi lives. I feel like all of the technology has made it hard to sit down and read a book. I think I have developed adult ADD and can't sit down to read a book even if I wanted to.

I am trying to hard to make DD love reading and so far it has helped. We read all the time to her and she loves to read to herself. Books are by far her favorite toy and I hope this passion continues. I feel like since I don't read as much as i should DD needs to.
