or your go-to wedding gift to give? my bff is getting married this weekend and I am going back and forth on what to get her. I'm thinking just cash for her honeymoon but would like to give her something more sentimental that she can always look back on. Problem is she only registered for practical gifts, which I shopped off of for her shower, and she already said she doesn't want crystal or glass.
I'm looking for ideas so feel free to shop for me and PIP
Re: what's your fav wedding gift?

also does she have a wine aerator? We got ours as a gift and use it often.
Pair it with a nice bottle of wine and maybe some glasses, nice gift!
Crate and Barrel is where we got ours.
Does she own a home?
My MOH gave me a pencil sketch of our house. She had it done by someone. It will be sentimental for me since its our first house and where we brought all the girls home to.

I don't know how much time you have, but if you can scrapbook, I have a great suggestion. For several of the family bridal showers we gathered recipes from all their female relatives/invitees of the shower and created a scrapbook cookbook. You can get food themed papers and accessories (Joanns, Paper Wishes, etc.) online easiest. Then just have each person hand write out a recipe card (ALL on one side, so they may need two or a larger piece of paper than your standard 4X6 card) and then you put that in the center of the page, put decorations and papers with it that match/coordinate and go to town. The final page I always take a pic of the couple if I have one, and do a "recipe for a happy marriage"... google that term and you can find a ton of different ones... but I usually just mix and match until I have one I love of my own (and that matches the people I am making it for). You can buy 3 ring binders at zazzle (I think that is the name of it) or by just googling cooking binder. All of them that we've made so far have been absolutely LOVED by the recipient and perfect for someone who loves to cook.
ETA: Sorry just seen the "this weekend" part. Not such a good idea if it is that close. What about a shadow box with her invites and stuff like that? You could leave a place for her garter in it too or a wedding photo.

My favorite unexpected wedding gift was a bowl from a potter in KY. I think ours is the color chocolate, but it looks more blue. We got the large one with the flat edge. Not only is it really pretty, but it is microwave and dishwasher safe. It's displayed on our table and cleaned out if we need to use it. We are thinking of adding to the set later on:

IMO, I would get something off of the registry.
We hardly got anything off of our registry (got mostly cash & gift cards), and it was all stuff we needed, so it was a big annoyance to go back and buy things that we'd asked for all along.
We also got some sentimental items (picture frames, photo albums, nice "knick knacks", like you mentioned, but only kept a very few. The rest ended up at our next yard sale.
So, unless you think of something and are certain they will LOVE it, I'd go with the registry.
I would shop off of the registry, because I figure they put the items on there because they need/want them for whatever reason.
I will say that no one shopped off of our registry for our wedding, the few that did I wanted to kiss them because I was SO excited to get those items.
