I didn't realize how mentally exhausting it would be. The parents of the girl that was choked were there amongst a few others of us. Just the stories that were told from these parents were heartwrenching. A few of us sat there and cried together and it looked like even the Colonel got teary eyed.
The teacher that choked the girl did it out of retalliation because the mom reported abuse, that SHE SAW HERSELF, for another child who couldn't speak for themself. The teacher also followed this girl into the bathroom, lifted her off the toilet to "make sure she was pooping" and threw her back down on it.
Another girl was drug across the school by her hair while the teachers told her to suck it up. A boy with special needs (ADHD, tourettes, etc) was locked out of his classroom and went missing for hours because the special needs teachers didn't want to deal with him. Things like that.
We were told to go ahead and file any cases of abuse with the county sherrif. There was also a lawyer there who told us that this was going to have to be brought to the state board of education.
I don't care how long this takes, or what channels we have to follow through with, THIS NEEDS TO STOP. Now that we've done this part with the military, we can move on to the civilian side of it.
We've got the ball rolling, now it's time to get some form of justice for these kids. Thanks for the wishes ladies. Please say a prayer that things move quickly and in the right direction.
Re: Back from the school meeting (LONG)
Yeah this is DD's school that I'm talking about. CHILDREN are going through this madness.

Unfortunately, the only other school that we can send her to is in the same county...which was on the news for kids bringing razor blades in to cut someone's face because they cut in line for something. They all seem so crazy down here. I'm ready to homeschool her.
Oh no, since this school is Pre-k through 8th grade, this is going across all grades. DD is in Kindergarten, the girl who was choked was in 2nd grade, the boy that was locked out was in 6th grade, and the girl that was drug was in 4th or 5th.
Now we do have some really good teachers there, but there's a serious lack of care on the teachers and initiative on the higher ups to follow through on a lot of this. It's really heartbreaking.
Same here. Wow, I hope you are able to make a difference.

Was this one teacher, or many??
I am in SHOCK!!! As a teacher, I can never, even on my worst day, with my worst student, could I imagine doing something like what you decribed!
I literally can't wrap my head around it....
holy poop! I am a teacher and I have never seen a teacher touch a student in a negative way (hugs, back pats, etc., yes...but not hurtful!)
Is this a DoD school? Why can't the colonel do something? Is it because the teachers are civilians? not enlisted/commissioned?
