    Boy, if that's the case then my LO will be the most spoilled kid on the block! I can't stop rubbing my belly, ever. It's just part of what we do, isn't it? MILs... sheesh.

    Oh dear.  I pity you for all of the comments you'll get about how you're spoiling your LO by holding him/her too much after birth.  An outdated idea with no scientific basis, but one of the most common parenting myths!

    wow! too funny... I rub mine all the time and when people come near mine I put my hand on it as a protective mode so I guess my little girl is terribly spoiled

    Well, if we're all spoiling them already we are all going to be TERRIBLE parents when they are all here and we hold them and feed them and *gasp* change them!  Boy, I had no idea that rubbing my belly was setting my child up for such a terrible future...(insert excessive eye rolling here)

    Yeah... I think she was serious.  It was definitely a reference to coddling the baby.  Comments like this makes me feel happy that I live 400 miles away from her.  Can't wait to hear all of the parenting advice!!
