Hi ladies. We transferred 1 8-cell and 2 6-cell embryos with some fragmentation today. It was a tough pill to swallow, as we had 5 others arrest, but we're trying to make the best of it. If you had not-so-good-looking embryos turning into beautiful babies, I would love to hear about it. TIA

Re: Posting from IF: looking for less than perfect embryos success stories
I don't keep track of the details really but I don't think I had anything fantastic with my "Garrison cycle"-- it was a 3dt and my RE suggested (and we agreed) to transfer 3 which tells me they weren't great since he is generally uber conservative to the point that he often suggests single embryo transfers if the quality is really good. I had a 5dt for my first IVF (bfn) with morula's (or whatever they are called before they get to the blast stage.
Think positive!! Crazier things have happened on this board!
Good luck, I had my transfer on Friday so hopefully we'll both get good news soon!
Hi
On our very first succesful IVF we had none left to freeze and only 2 left for transfer. An 8 cell grade 3 and a 6 cell grade 2 (scale 1-5 with 1 being 'perfect') . This resulted in our DS.
Last year we transferred some very good quality embies including one of those 'perfect' 8 cell embryos and all BFN's. About a month ago we transferred 3 embies- a 10 cell grade 2, 8 cell grade 3 and a 7 cell grade 3. Right now I am (hopefully) PG and anxiously awaiting my ultrasound on Wed.
SO, as you can see...I have gotten PG twice now off not so wonderful looking embies. 6 and 8 cell sound great to me I say you certainly shouldnt give up hope.!
Our beautiful son was born July 2008.
2010: 2 IVF's,1 FET = 2 BFN's, 1 c/p
Feb 2011-Unmedicated FET= BFP!! DS #2 born Oct 2011!!.
The taller one in my siggy wasn't even a morula.
And she was all we had.
You never know. Hang in there. I wish you the best!
I had unattractive embryos. We also transferred 3 b/c they were all we had left and they did not look good (fair-poor-I don't remember the details anymore). We were told we had a 30-35% chance I would get pregnant at all. My ugly embryo is in my siggy:) We also had a vanishing twin, the *good* part of that is 2 embryos stuck, out of a 30-35% chance, I had 2 stick.
Best of luck to you! I hope you get your baby and you can tell s/he the story of starting off "less than perfect"
My DD will know she was an ugly embryo
