I only cried a little bit when we dropped Charlie off at daycare and I came in to candy on my desk, so that helped some. I'm so not looking forward to pumping in the office

Pumping at work is NOT fun and I found it to be rather embarassing.

What a sucky day to come back to work all cold outside.

Pumping at work is not fun but you will get used to it. Actually you will get used to the whole situation. It seems to get a little easier each day. Good luck!

Nearly 10 months in to BFing, and I still find myself napping while pumping sometimes!

I counted down the minutes when I first went back to work. It helped that I had a wonderful sitter for Gabe and that she called me with little check-ins to tell me how he was doing and what was going on the first week I was back. I felt part of his day. It made it much easier to know he was doing OK and that I had that connection.

Awww, Jene, I really feel for you. It's almost exactly a year ago that I came back to work. It really sucks the first few days! You were smart to come back in the middle of the week and not have to work 5 full days.

I hope you manage to stay busy and keep your mind occupied today. How nice that someone left candy for you! Yay!

I don't really post here much...but I did want to let you know (while this is only my 3rd day back at work too) it does get easier (the pumping part). Like the pp said it is a bit "embarassaing" but today I discovered the bags that came with my pump (Medela PISA). These are great and you can pump right into the bags. (Why I waited so long to discover these is beyond me). I also don't have a sink near by so I shlep all my stuff (after I pump) to the bathroom rinse it out and add the parts and water to the Medela quick steam bag and off to the microwave I go. It sounds tedious but it does help.

I feel for you. Pumping at work was a little degrading at first, but it gets easier. I bring a magazine to read to distract myself from having my boobs out in the office.

I remember that first day back and it was easier than I thought but hard to leave DS. Hope your day goes by fast so you can get back to your little man!

Oh, I so feel for you. 3 days in and I'm exhausted. And DH is home most of the time or MIL is watching DS.

And to top it off, today I had to explain to my principal why I couldn't do lunch duty for 20 minutes of it because I had to pump (we do this 1 day/week during our personal lunch). He understood, but I'm sure that wasn't the conversation he wanted to have.
