Davinci Kalani vs. Baby Mod Cadence

I was going to purchase the Davinci Kalani furniture set in Espresso, then came across a Baby Mod-Cadence..They look identical! Anyone have experience in comparing these two? TIA

Re: Davinci Kalani vs. Baby Mod Cadence

  • I don't yet own the Cadence crib, but after TONS of research I will be purchasing it instead of the Kalani. They are made by the same company and from everything I've read they seem ridiculously similar (other than the price difference). One note though, apparently both scratch fairly easily while assembling, but a carpenter's pencil seems to be the quick fix. I hope someone can post who actually owns it; otherwise, I hope this helps!!

  • We got the Baby Mod Cadence after seeing so many posts about them being exactly the same crib.. and they are.  While I don't have a LO chewing on the wood yet, I took note of the reviews saying the wood was easily scratched and it's been put together in Flora's nursery for over a month now, getting moved around to hang decor and I haven't noticed a scratch on it. It's beautiful and feels incredibly sturdy. No regrets here Smile

  • I agree. Go with the Baby Mod.

  • We have the Kalani.  We put it together a few weeks ago and have had to move it around to put together the dresser and there isn't a scratch on it despite the reviews.  I'm sure anything that gets chewed on is going to scratch.  You're probably fine going either way.
  • They are in fact made by the same company, Baby Mod is just exclusive to Walmart. Million Dollar Baby is also the same company.

Same here!  Crib is super sturdy, the color is nice, and you can't beat the Walmart price.  It didn't get scratched while putting it together or moving it around the room, but I'll just be careful and get rails when he starts chewing.  I would imagine that any crib would get damaged when that happens!
