26 hours of labor ending in a c-section

I labored for 26 hours and ended up having a c-section for my son Patrick David. I pushed for 3 1/2 hours, and his head would not get through my pelvis. They would have tried the vac, but the doctor was afraid of hemoraging due to the pushing. What took me 25 hours to do only took the doctors 10 minutes to get Patrick out.

I'm so thankful to have a healthy baby, but I am still bummed to have it all end in a c-section. I was relieved to finally have my baby boy in my arms, but I feel like it took longer for us to connect because I wasn't an active participant. Anyone else feeling this way?

Yea, I had a similar situation, but mine ended with me not being able to hold him for 2 days or feed or anything.. But now that we are home and have been here for about a week.. we are bonding perfectly! Give it time

This happened to me with both of my girls. It sucks and you have to work through feeling like your body failed you, but at the end of the say, you have a healthy baby and that's all that matters
