So a close friend of mine is pregnant with her first and considered "high-risk." She was constantly getting ultrasounds at every appointment to check up on her LO. More than one doctor confirmed she was having a girl so she went on buying and buying and buying for her little girl. She got the nursery all ready for her and got lots of pink things at her showers.

Well, I just got a text from her with a picture of her beautiful baby BOY!!!!!!!!!!! All the doctors who confirmed her gender were 100% completely WRONG. Of course she was devastated because she had planned for months and months for a girl. But overall, she's happy that her baby came out healthy and a-ok. However, she didn't keep tags or receipts for anything that she had bought or gotten as gifts. Everything she owns for her baby is pink and super girly.

Let this be a lesson to all of us that doctors can be wrong. I don't mean to freak anyone out, but I'm going to start keeping receipts for absolutely everything that we've gotten and will get before our LO is born. Our doctor's confirmed our LO's gender twice and it's absolutely obvious he's a boy, but just in case... I'm keeping receipts.

Here is a picture of our LO. I'm almost 110% certain he's a boy. Confirmed by two different doctors and two different u/s techs... But you never know!

I am with you - it was confirmed to the point of us watching him urinate on the u/s! SO I feel pretty certain but it would be crazy if on d-day they were like here's your baby girl....OMG...

and that's why i'm team green - i would hate to invest so much time into colours and clothing only to find out the drs were wrong...... i'm happy your friend has a healthy baby boy though

ACK!! This is one of my fears actually. We were told team pink and are pretty certain this is true. I've still yet to take off a single tag from anything we have bought. I have a 3D ultrasound at the end of March and hopefully that will give me more assurance. I haven't kept receits, just leaving tags on for now.

I am really happy we are having (or so we were told) a boy since I think girls can get away with boy stuff but it is more frowned upon to put a boy in pink.

This exactly!! Though, I do have at least a few things that say "daddys boy" or indicate he's a boy, but I could get away with it.

This exactly!! Though, I do have at least a few things that say "daddys boy" or indicate he's a boy, but I could get away with it.

I have a few shirts with a dog on it that say "good boy" but if he turns out to be a she then we will just say she wants to comment on what a good boy she thinks her big brother is.

I know that typically when they're wrong it's in that direction (say it's a girl when it's a boy), and even though this LO was not afraid to show us his goods I still have a manilla envelope in the clothing drawer with all of the receipts. I also have one with the receipts from my maternity clothes incase I don't end up using a sweater or something because I don't get big enough to fill it out in season.

Tongue Tied MIL told me a similar story of her gf being told she was having a girl; decked out the room in Strawberry Shortcake only to find out when she gave birth she was actually a HE! Lol

Thank goodness my little guy kept his feet in his face and we saw his little hang down from about every angle...it got to the point where we were all like we get it you're a boy; but we need to see your other bits too!

That happened to be me with DS2. They were so sure he was a girl. We did all the girly stuff. When he was born the doc said "Congrats it's a boy!". Yeah, I was surprised all right. Luckily my other children you could definately tell.
