I'd venture to say that very small amount of wine isn't going to do anything to your baby. But if you don't feel comfortable with it anymore just abstain for while you're pregnant. Or run it by your doctor just to set your mind at ease. But I'm sure you'll be fine.
I would only skip it if it was a communal cup that was shared with other parishoners. I wouldn't want to swap spit with a bunch of strangers and risk getting sick.
In my bag: Nikon D90; 35mm 1.8, 90mm 2.8 macro (my fave), Lensbaby Composer with macro extensions. BFP after 13 cycles and one ectopic. Lost left tube 5/19/10.

This exactly. Wine is optional. I would skip it. I do, pregnant or not, because I hate drinking out of the same cup as everyone else. I know they wipe it, but come on.
i would skip it, why chance anything, its not worth it They say even a small amount of alcohol can have effects on the baby, even though it probaly won't it might, so why bother.
I had wine witth Communion every Sunday during my last pregnancy & everything was fine. I am doing the same with this pregnancy. It is not a communal cup though... That kind of makes me nervous even when not preg!

Not every church offers communion every week. I'm not Catholic, so I don't know how they do it, but my church has it 1st and 3rd Sundays and special services, not every week.
OP, I really don't think the amount of wine you get during communion is enough to worry about. I have and will continue to take communion as usual.

I'm Catholic, but I already don't do the wine. I almost spilt it all over my face once and I haven't had the guts to try again since. I'm sure baby will be fine, and just think, somewhere there's someone skipping the wine because her mom never taught her to drink from a cup properly. Maybe that's more dangerous, lol.

They were trying to scare you. They probably also told you you'd get pregnant anytime you have unprotected sex too, right?

That's awesome! Doesn't it just seem like October is forever away! H&H 9 months to you!
