FINALLY...I got to hold my baby girl!

The nurse last night wouldn't let me because she was still on the vent. The nurse tonight was more then happy to let me give it a shot. It was only ten minutes, but by far one of the best ten minutes of my life. And Addison handled it very well, especially for a baby who does not like to be bothered at all.

Overall Addison is doing very well and they are hoping to get her off the vent in the next few days. They are upping her feeds on Tuesday and she's gained 7 ozs!

Blake is currently doing 4 hours on a nasal cannula and 4 hours on CPAP and is just loving life. He's up 4ozs. and they are going to increase his feeds tomorrow.

All in all I'd say today was a good NICU day, minus the capped needle that the night nurse found in Blake's incubator...I will give the night nurse credit though he made sure he reported it ASAP, and luckily it was capped and did not cause harm to Blake.

TTC #1 since 4/2007... MFI (low motility/low Testosterone) & PCOS IVF #1 August 2010...BFP 1st sono shows TWINS!!!!     So great!  I know how awesome that first hold is...I can imagine its 100x even more awesome when you've had to wait so long for it!  Keep it up Addison!

    The feeling of that first time holding them is so amazing!  We once found a dirty diaper in Sarah's isolette.  The whole thing smelled so terrible when we opened it for care time & then we found it.
