As already stated (be kind, be loved, be happy, etc.).
I always want my child to grow up understanding the value of a dollar and to feel as if he has to work for the things that he gets. There are no free rides in life and I can't stand kids that feel so entitled. I have a 22 year old nephew who hasn't ever had a real job (and I think he's only had 1 crappy job that he got fired from). I will do everything in my power to make sure that my son understands that this not acceptable.
Re: Finish this sentence "I always want my child to..."
I always want my child to be respectful.
I always want my child to have confidence.
I always want my child to be happy.
ETA: I like your guys' response! I want to change my "to be happy" to "know she is loved" b/c constant happiness is unrealistic and that's ok.
