I totally just judged

A friend on FB posted a video of her 6 week old nephew being spoon fed cereal and purees. I really try to just live and let live, but this really bothered me. I can see if maybe the pedi recommended cereal in the bottle for formula, then they'd have an excuse, but really, big honking spoonfuls of purees at 6 weeks? Really?

Just had to get that out. I totally gave it the side-eye.

  • Judging is perfectly okay when the judged is an incompetent uneducated moron :)

Eeek, I have a cousin who is the same way.  She offered me some wonderful advice the other day.  According to her I should stop breastfeeding immediately and switch to whole milk.  She seems to believe that nursing is terrible to continue after 6 months because my son will begin to remember my boobs and can mess with his sexual identity.  I'm not making this up people, it was so hard to keep in my laughter.  My son will be 7 months on Tuesday.

Same person who was ecstatic over the  full refund she received for a case of recalled Simlac of which she had all ready used 90%.  Whoo hoo, free worm larvae powder for my little one, score!

My theory is that if rejects like this can so openly barf their stupid views on you, it is perfectly fine to openly judge and critique their parenting, or lack thereof.

  •  I would judge the hell out of that!

  • As I read your post I was thinking, "What the heck is wrong with that???"  Then I realized it says 6 WEEKS, not 6 months.  Wow.

  • I saw a mom at a restaurant ignore her maybe 3 or 4 week old infant while she ate and casually had conversation with the 2 other adults at the table.  The poor baby was sitting in her carrier SCREAMING her head off.  I said something to my DH along the lines of "i'd be happy to show her how you can hold your baby and eat at the same time"... she apparantley heard me and proceeded to whisper and stare at us.  She then picked up her little baby who had been screaming for over15 minutes and amazingly the baby stopped crying.

    I TOTALLY judged!!!!!

Just curious, did the 6 week old actually swallow the food and how did they get the baby to sit up?  Maybe you could send a nice care package including a few parenting/child care books.  Confused
