Hi ladies! I had my anatomy scan friday at 18w3d. After the scan the doctor came in and told us they didn't get a good look at the 2nd main artery to the heart and that he had Choroid Plexus Cysts on his brain. She immediately said not to worry that everything else on my ultrasound looked great and if they had gotten to see the artery they wouldn't even scan for the cysts again.
So, me the first time mom panicked. I googled it as soon as I got home and read that it could be linked to Trisomy 18 (which is most of the time lethal) and Down Syndrome. Now I can't let myself not worry or be happy-go-lucky about my pregnancy.
Do you any of you have experience with this?? If so what advice can you give?
TIA

My niece had one also. She had markers for downs and Tri18. Howeevr the cyst went away and she is a NORMAL healthy kid who is 4.
Like the others said, these are very commonly seen today with the advancement of u/s technology.
Did you have the NT Scan done? Assuming your results were normal for the NT and there were no other markers found during your anatomy scan, then it will be fine
I have 2 friend's whose sons both had them at their 20 week u/s as well. Both of their boys are very, very healthy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with either of them! Both of them requested a 3rd tri u/s to make sure they had resolved and/or shrunk and both of them found they had!
GL!
I did the same thing as you and spend hours looking up info. But, it will be okay- my doc said CPCs are anomalies, but "normal" anomalies. They originally found four on our baby's brain at the 20w scan, shrunk at 22 weeks (good prognosis), and at 24 weeks only one left but barely there. It should be gone the next scan.
For us, it meant more ultrasounds and more frequent, very thorough check ups (which we entirely appreciate).
Hope this helps a bit.
