How come we cannot advertise etsy or link any businesses but we can solicit for private boards?
BC it isn't something you have to pay for if you want to join.
No and there is no fee here either but if i'm there I'm not here to connect with Pampers or see a pop up from Aruba. This takes business away from the bump so why is this not against TOS but linking an etsy shop is?

none of us understand either, so you are preaching to the choir here.

I get what your saying. Although, a lot of the posters on LoS, including myself, post on both boards.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you talking about the ads and "special" boards? These companies probably have some sort of business deal with theBump (ie Pampers pays to advertise and have a special board here, so both companies benefit from the partnership).
theBump wants to prevent everyone from creating a profile just to spam the boards with their Etsy links. Personally, I'm glad for that.

The bump makes its money from advertising. Therefore, if people advertise their crap for free, that hurts the bump.
I'm not sure why people do not get this.
People do not pay to post here, so the bump doesn't really "lose business" over some people posting on multiple boards.
I think people don't understand how small of a part the message boards play in the bump/knot/nest.
Which is why it's funny whenever the knot does something to jack up the boards and people get all riled up about "taking my business elsewhere" when the company clearly doesn't care. Theyr'e not making any money of those of us that have been here for five years and don't even glance at the ads.
I think they tried to stem some of that off by taking the boards out of the html frames that they used to be in which made it impossible to just open the board with none of the ads or extraneous crap.
