If you were breast feeding and then weaned gradually and then stopped, do you remember having any little lumps a few months later?
I very gradually dried up over Oct & by the end of Nov I was completely done. Yesterday I felt a weird sensation on the L side. When I felt it there were 2 bumps. On the other side there were a few more but a little smaller. At first I thought they were just ducts with milk still (because they kind of felt like a clogged duct) but now I'm kind of freaking out.
Of course I plan on calling the Dr on Monday, just wanted to see if this happened to any of you too.
(btw- I dried up b/c I had been EP for 6-7 months and my wrist were, and still are, killing me so I pumped less and less. Had I not been hurting so much and kept pumping regularily, my tata's were ready to keep on giving)
Re: if you have stopped BFing...
I am still BFing so I have no idea what those bumps are but you don't have to explain yourself! the fact that you EP for soooooooo long is amazing to me and way more impressive than the fact that I have BF for 15 months. seriously, I have no idea how you did it, I hated pumping. just shows how much you were you willing to do for him
oh and it sounds like you might have what I have - de Quervain syndrome - so I feel your pain
I got a steroid injection but it only helped temporarily. the only thing that has helped it significantly is laser therapy. (though admittedly, I could never commit to wearing the hand brace b/c I wash my hands way too many times a day to keep putting on and taking off that brace!)

Thanks Jamie. Ha, I guess I am explaining myself. I have some guilt for quitting pumping I guess. But I also included that bit because I think (or am hoping) that it's just my body still ready to give milk.
I've went to two doctors already for my wrist and they both said that it's de Quervain syndrome. One gave me a wrist brace, which helped a little but then my other wrist became inflamed. I went to another doctor and she offered me pain meds and said it would continue until I stopped what was causing the pain. I didn't take the pain meds because I was looking for a solution, not just a band aid. I've stopped pumping for four months already and they still hurt. I have made an app for a third doctor. I might resort to the injections. At this point I'll do about anything including pain meds.
you so should not feel guilty!
if you are willing to try anything ask for a referral to someone who can do laser therapy on it. it may or may not be covered by your insurance (and i have no idea how $ it is w/o insurance) but it is non-invasive, doesn't hurt, and doesn't include taking any medications. it has helped me tremendously! (i'm just lucky in that one of the places where i work has one so i get to use it for free)
