Looking for something beginning Sept. 1 - Any good recommendations? Centers and homes welcome, cheaper is better (as long as it is a reputable place.) Thanks, ladies!!!
I've heard really good things and was very impressed by a tour at Jack and Jill in Roseville on County Rd C and New Brighton Blvd. They are cheaper than some centers (for sure cheaper than New Horizons and Kindercare) but still expensive. When I was looking their price was around $1100 a month for an infant but that about a year and half ago. I didn't actually use them because I ended up with a significantly reduced work schedule but they were my 1st choice for full time care (and I toured 18 places...) Good luck!
We toured Jack and Jill in St. Anthony and we were pretty disappointed in the infant room. I know babies cry, but the whole time we were there we watched babies laying all over the floor screaming their heads off. It just didn't seem like they had enough help in there. It's possible we just toured at a bad time, too. But that impression was hard to get out of my head. The older kid rooms looked great though. I'd recommend atleast checking them out.
We ended up choosing MiniApple Montessori in Roseville near the Roseville Mall (off Fairview Ave exit). It felt much smaller and more controlled. But they are more expensive than Jack and Jill.
Is Little Canada too far away? We looked into Children's Discovery Academy there and really liked it. Ultimately, we chose MiniApple simply because it was more convenient location-wise for both DH and I to pick her up. But we would not hesitate to register there as well. They were great. They also have a center in Vadnais Heights. We found Children's Discovery to be the most expensive of the 3, but not much more than MiniApple. Definitely worth a visit!
I would agree with the last post regarding Jack and Jill. This is not only true for their infant room but for all other rooms/ages as well. I would recommend looking at Kinderberry or if you do not mind a drive Primrose in Blaine is great as well.
