3.5 is about the right beginning age for "How to Talk so Kids Will Listen, and Listen so Kids Will Talk". LOVE that book!
Absolutely ditto this suggestion. 3.5 is a crazy age but one of my favorites. My girls were torn somewhere between wanting to be babies and wanting to be big girls. We had some weird struggles (like insisting that shoes on the wrong feet were the way to go) but it was so cool seeing them turn into little people.
Re: Parenting Book Suggestions?
I am really, really, really enjoying In Defense of Childhood by Chris Mercogliano
I would def recommend it if you are dealing with a "spirited" child
We recommend some on our site: https://www.becomingmamas.com/book-reviews/
Have you read Playful Parenting yet? It might be helpful at that age.

Love this book too! I use things from it with DS already and know I will be rereading it as he grows.
